Saw Lizzy back in 1976 at Reading festival..I was 10 years old-I remember my Mum being completely mesmerised by Phil and his leather jeans..total sex-god..I know the "Girls wanna fuck him and guys want to be him" thing is a bit worn out,but in Phil Lynott's case it was true. The next, and final time I saw Thin Lizzy (what a fucking cool name for a band) was again at Reading, this time with my mates,in 1983,and my memory is of a still-great band, but a feeling of tension between the band members - all was not well. And then the end came soon for Phil. R.I.P.
Too true just watch a documentary last night about lizzy.
ReplyDeleteWas it the BBC4 doc/ I saw that one and it was great stuff.
